Catalog of the major exhibition dedicated to August Sander, presented by the National Center for Photography based on the August Sander Archives in Cologne, curated by Gerd Sander. The book traces the entire body of work of the great German photographer through an extensive selection of reproductions covering his monumental project *Menschen des 20. Jahrhunderts* (*People of the 20th Century*), a vast photographic inventory of German society during the Weimar Republic.
