First edition of this catalog published on the occasion of the exhibition held at the Photography Gallery of the Bibliothèque nationale de France as part of the Year of Brazil. The book brings together 136 photographs covering the major series in Sebastião Salgado’s body of work: Latin America, the Amazon, Africa, the Sahel, Serra Pelada, migration, the world of work, and landscapes. The reproductions are accompanied by analytical essays and a previously unpublished interview with the photographer. Foreword by Salman Rushdie.
One of the finest institutional catalogs dedicated to Salgado, illustrating the pivotal period preceding the publication of *Genesis* and offering a synthesis of his major humanistic photoessays.
Condition: very good copy. Hardcover showing some slight soiling and signs of handling, a discreet mark on the upper corner of the front cover, and an old bookstore label on the back cover. Interior is in pristine condition, with no foxing or annotations.
