A comprehensive documentary collection devoted to the last two decades of the Third Republic, from the end of World War I to the collapse of 1940. Produced by La Documentation française, this publication was intended for higher and secondary education as well as government agencies, combining a summary text with a wealth of documentary illustrations. The set includes a study booklet and an extensive series of photographic plates depicting the period’s leading political figures (Poincaré, Briand, Herriot, Blum, Daladier, etc.), major economic and social crises, demonstrations, diplomatic events, the rise of totalitarianism, the Munich Agreement, as well as numerous archival documents, posters, maps, statistical tables, and period photographs. These files now serve as a valuable record of how contemporary history was presented in the 1960s. A complete copy, including the folder and inserts, but showing significant signs of wear: the folder is creased and worn, the spine is worn with small tears, and the documents have minor flaws.
