A beautiful album featuring photographs by Robert Doisneau accompanied by a previously unpublished text by Max-Pol Fouchet, offering a poetic and humanistic portrait of Paris in the aftermath of the war. This volume is among Doisneau’s first major photographic books and predates his most famous publications of the 1960s.
Abundant heliogravure illustrations, both full-page and as insert plates.
Condition: hardcover in good condition despite some scuffing and minor signs of wear; interior very fresh overall, with the exception of a few discreet marginal foxing spots on a blank page; well-preserved copy.
