The book brings together the famous portraits created by Denise Colomb in the studios and homes of the great artists of the École de Paris and the avant-garde: Arp, Artaud, Balthus, Bonnard, Braque, Victor Brauner, Chagall, Sonia Delaunay, Dubuffet, Ernst, Giacometti, Hantaï, Lam, Lanskoy, Laurens, Magnelli, Manessier, Masson, Matta, Miró, Pascin, Picasso, Poliakoff, Richier, Riopelle, Soulages, Staël, Vieira da Silva, Wols, Zao Wou-Ki, and many others.
The exhibition also featured works from the collections of gallery owners Pierre and Édouard Loeb, creating a particularly successful dialogue between photography and artistic creation.
Beautiful black-and-white and color illustrations, reproducing Denise Colomb’s portraits as well as the works of the artists photographed.
