A beautiful, richly illustrated volume offering a broad panorama of French landscapes, monuments, cities, villages, traditions, and regional curiosities. Edited by François Cali, it combines historical and descriptive entries with a wealth of photographic illustrations. The illustrations feature the works of several of the greatest French photographers of the 20th century, including Henri Cartier-Bresson, Brassaï, Robert Doisneau, Willy Ronis, Lucien Hervé, René-Jacques, Henriette Grindat, Denise Colomb, Jahan, Nora Dumas, Masclet, Claude Arthaud, René-Jacques, Geiger, Pottier, Sudre, Vavasseur, etc., making this volume a true anthology of French photography applied to cultural heritage. Beautiful print on coated paper. Condition: good copy. Dust jacket shows some scuffing and small tears at the top and bottom edges and corners; interior is fresh.
