BOUBAT (Édouard). - Lot 35
BOUBAT (Édouard).
Boubat’s Paris.
Quarto, illustrated publisher’s cardboard binding.
Catalog published in conjunction with the exhibition held at the Carnavalet Museum from November 6, 1990, to February 3, 1991, as part of the Mois de la Photo in Paris. The book brings together a substantial selection of Édouard Boubat’s photographs of Paris, taken primarily between the 1940s and the 1980s. Far from the monumental or tourist-oriented side of Paris, Boubat reveals the city’s everyday spirit: the banks of the Seine, gardens, children playing in the streets, markets, lovers, anonymous passersby, and neighborhood scenes. His gaze, with infinite delicacy, captures an intimate, luminous, and deeply humanistic capital. The black-and-white reproductions are accompanied by captions that help place the images in their historical context.
Condition: very good copy.
