VALLERY-RADOT (René) (1853–1933). Signed autograph letter (L.A.S.) on letterhead from 5 Avenue Constant-Coquelin (7th arrondissement), dated March 26, 1928, 2 pages, in-4 format. A lengthy letter addressed to a friend, in which René Vallery-Radot responds warmly to friendly reproaches. He affirms the sincerity of their long-standing friendship, dismisses any misunderstanding, and insists that his conduct has always been guided solely by candor. He also refers to their shared acquaintances, his imminent return from vacation, and suggests a meeting to dispel any ambiguity once and for all. A very fine, character-filled letter that reveals the personality of the writer and member of the Académie Française, blending personal justification, loyal friendship, and a deeply human tone.
