ROUSSIN (André). - Lot 276
ROUSSIN (André). Signed autograph card with a typewritten transcription. Paris, n.d. [circa the second half of the 20th century]. Signed autograph card, written in black ink on a card with the printed letterhead “12, Place des Victoires, IIe,” accompanied by a typewritten transcription on a folio-sized sheet. André Roussin (1911–1987), a French playwright, screenwriter, and member of the Académie française, was the author of numerous successful comedies, including *La Petite Hutte*, *Lorsque l’enfant paraît*, *Bobosse*, and *La Mamma*. Elected to the Académie française in 1973, he was one of the leading figures of postwar boulevard theater. An interesting autographed postcard addressed to a correspondent whom he calls “Dear Friend.” Roussin warmly thanks him for a letter praising a performance at the Théâtre Daunou. He notes that this comedy had no other ambition than to entertain the audience and expresses his satisfaction at having brought pleasure to his correspondent: “Thank you for your letter, which touches me deeply… I am happy that this little comedy was able to entertain and amuse you… Your kind words mean a great deal to me.” The postcard is accompanied by a complete typewritten transcription of the text. Condition: very good condition. The postcard and transcription are well preserved, with slight creases and normal signs of handling.
