MARTIN-FEUILLÉE (Félix) (1830–1898) - Lot 220
MARTIN-FEUILLÉE (Félix) (1830–1898) Signed autograph letter, Ministry of Justice, Paris, January 26, 1888. One-page in-4 autograph letter on letterhead of the Ministry of Justice and Religious Affairs, signed by Martin-Feuillée, then Minister of Justice. An interesting letter addressed to a member of parliament, strongly recommending the candidacy of Mr. Pilate, town clerk in Ferrières, for the position of justice of the peace in Algeria. The minister highlights the candidate’s qualities and urges his correspondent to support this appointment. A fine example of an administrative recommendation during the Third Republic, illustrating the role of the Minister of Justice in judicial appointments.
