GUÉRRÉ (Commander). - Lot 152
GUÉRRÉ (Commander). Signed autograph letter, on the letterhead of the submarine “Atalante,” Toulon, April 19 (circa 1909), 3 pages, in-8 format. A lengthy letter addressed to Paul d’Estrée regarding the publication of a book. The commander acknowledges receipt of a previous letter and discusses in detail the settlement of their accounts, the coverage of typesetting and printing costs, the book’s accessories, subscription contracts, and the terms of distribution for the work. He mentions the financial difficulties caused by rising printing costs and emphasizes the need for a prompt settlement, while expressing a desire to preserve their excellent relationship. An interesting account of the economic realities of the French publishing industry in the early 20th century, written by a naval officer then serving aboard the submarine Atalante. 3 pages. Very good condition.
