CABANÈS (Dr. Augustin) (1862–1928). - Lot 64
CABANÈS (Dr. Augustin) (1862–1928). Signed autograph letter-card (C.L.A.S.), addressed to Paul d'Estrée, postmarked Paris, September 17, 1908, one page on an illustrated letter-card. An interesting letter from Dr. Cabanès, a medical historian and founder of *La Chronique médicale*, addressed to his loyal collaborator Paul d’Estrée. He speaks enthusiastically about having read d’Estrée’s works on Marat, which he considers remarkable, while regretting that he cannot devote more time to certain historical projects. He announces that he will continue several research projects, notably on Sade, Daguin, Lautréamont, and other figures in literary and medical history—fields in which he is one of the most renowned specialists. This correspondence illustrates the rich intellectual exchanges between two scholars passionate about history, medicine, and literature on the eve of World War I. Augustin Cabanès (1862–1928), physician, journalist, historian of medicine, founder and editor of *La Chronique médicale*, and author of the famous series *Le Cabinet secret de l’Histoire* and *Grands névropathes*. He was one of the pioneers of psychohistory and maintained an extensive correspondence with the leading historians and bibliophiles of his time. 1 page on a letter card with the address on the reverse, postmark and stamp preserved. In good condition.
