BORDEAUX (Henri) - Lot 57
BORDEAUX (Henri) Signed autograph letter to a writer friend. 12, quai de Passy, undated (circa 1920–1930). 1 p. in-4. A beautiful letter of a literary nature in which Henri Bordeaux warmly thanks his correspondent for sending him a book he has just read. He highlights the quality of the writing and reflects on his view of literary creation, which he considers a profoundly generous act: “Your book is delightful, profound, and useful… I’ll say it again.” He then reflects on the role of the writer: “Action does not always stem from the need to make a splash; action is an act of generosity from the heart. ” The letter ends on a particularly warm and friendly note: “You see that you have a faithful friend in me.” A document representative of Henri Bordeaux’s humanist philosophy, blending literary criticism, moral reflection, and a testament to sincere friendship. Beautiful signature.
