AYCARD (Marie). Signed autograph letter to Mr. Pagnerre. Paris, September 18, 1841. Signed autograph letter, 1 page, oblong 8vo, dated Paris, September 18, 1841, signed Marie Aycard. Marie Aycard (1794–1859), whose real name was Marie Antoine Joseph Aycard, was a French novelist, playwright, and serial writer, and one of the most prolific authors of the July Monarchy. A contributor to the *Courrier français* and numerous other newspapers, he also published under the pseudonyms Paul Perrin and Jean Perrin. An interesting autograph note addressed to the publisher Louis-Jean Pagnerre, in which Aycard announces the submission of an article intended for the *Almanach populaire*, titled *Le Sabotier du faubourg Saint-Denis*: “I received a letter from Mr. Pagnerre this morning in which you inform me of an article published in the *Almanach populaire* titled *Le Sabotier du faubourg St Denis*. ” The note is dated and signed “Marie Aycard.” Condition: generally good. Folds from handling, a few small stains, and traces of previous handling, without any damage to the text or signature.
