[Author unknown] Signed autograph letter, Paris, March 16, 1917. One-page autograph letter in-4 on letterhead with engraved address “14, avenue du Trocadéro,” dated Paris, March 16, 1917. Signature unidentified. An interesting letter addressed to a director, in which the author reports on a meeting with the head of the Rural Engineering Department. He states that he has secured an initial order for mower cleaner equipment, which will be shipped by a specialized company. This document illustrates the relationships between the private industrial sector and the government’s technical services during World War I, at a time when issues of supply, mechanization, and the organization of agricultural production were of strategic importance. An interesting account of French economic and administrative life during the 1914–1918 conflict.
