Large 8vo, blue Bradel-style half-maroquin, marbled paper covers, spine titled in gold. A scholarly edition devoted to the papers and correspondence of Pierre-Gaspard Chaumette (1763–1794), a major figure of the French Revolution, prosecutor of the Paris Commune, and a key player in the Hébertist movement. Historian Félix Braesch has compiled here a collection of documents, letters, and archival materials, accompanied by a substantial critical introduction that sheds light on Chaumette’s political career from his early days in Nevers to his role in the revolutionary events.
