AYMÉ (Marcel). *Parisian Novels*, followed by *Uranus*. - Lot 25
AYMÉ (Marcel). *Parisian Novels*, followed by *Uranus*.
Paris, Gallimard, 1959.
Large 8vo, decorative publisher’s binding in polychrome ivory skivertex, with matching slipcase.
An illustrated edition featuring thirty-two original watercolors by Gen Paul, Vivancos, B. Kelly, Demonchy, J.-D. Mallclès, Perraudin, and Déchelette, bringing together several of Marcel Aymé’s most iconic works. The volume notably includes *Le Passe-Muraille*, *La Rue sans nom*, *Le Vin de Paris*, and *Uranus*, a major novel from the immediate postwar period whose social acuity and satirical verve remain among the most remarkable in 20th-century French literature.
This elegant collector’s edition features a spectacular publisher’s binding with stylized polychrome floral designs covering the covers and spine, complete with its original slipcase. The set is a characteristic example of the N.R.F.’s luxury publications from the late 1950s.
A very fine copy, well-preserved, in its original presentation.
