GEORGE GROSZ — Über alles die Liebe - Lot 105
GEORGE GROSZ — Über alles die Liebe GEORGE GROSZ — Prints Munich, Makol Verlag, circa 1970–1980. Illustrated paperback, In-4 format. Reprint of the famous collection of satirical drawings published in Berlin in 1930 under the title *Über alles die Liebe*. The volume brings together some of George Grosz’s most scathing works depicting German society during the Weimar Republic: prostitution, urban poverty, bourgeois corruption, moral hypocrisy, and social violence. Grosz’s incisive line, at once expressionist and caricatural, reaches a remarkable intensity here. These Makol Verlag albums contributed significantly to the rediscovery of the artist in the 1970s.
