Large autograph inscription by Henri Cain: "Je suis bougrement content", followed by his signature. A beautiful, spontaneous and familiar formula, written in a lively, confident hand, revealing a more intimate and playful aspect of the personality of the famous librettist and man of the theater, a collaborator of Jules Massenet and an important figure on the French opera scene during the Belle Époque. The broad signature, particularly elegant and decorative, occupies the lower part of the folio and lends the whole a truly graphic character. A curious and attractive autograph testimony with a personal tone, uncommon among Henri Cain's preserved documents. Very good condition.
