LEROUX, Charles (1851-1926). Original signed photograph with autograph dispatch. Original photographic bust portrait of composer and conductor Charles Leroux, shown in profile in a sober, elegant pose. Silver print mounted on postcard, bearing at the bottom of the image the autograph signature "Ch. Leroux" accompanied by a handwritten note: "To Madame Leroux in sincere friendship Paris 22 Déc. 29". Photographer's stamp at the bottom of the plate: "Franz Löwy, Wien, Paris", famous studio specializing in portraits of artists, musicians and personalities from the European cultural world. French composer and conductor Charles Leroux was active in opera and symphony in the late XIXᵉ century. This late portrait, signed and dedicated, is a particularly endearing personal testimony to the musician's last years. Beautiful autograph presentation photograph, of remarkable provenance and aesthetic quality.
