ARLOT (Raimond). - Lot 257
ARLOT (Raimond). Physician to Madame, Duchesse d'Orléans, mother of the Regent. P.S. "Arlot". Paris, December 29, 1696. 1 p. oblong in-4 on vellum, under printed label of the Rentes de l'Hôtel de Ville de Deux Sols. Rare receipt signed by physician Raimond Arlot, then "premier médecin de Son Altesse Royale Madame". This document bears witness to the system of annuities constituted by the Hôtel de Ville de Paris for the payment of charges and pensions during the reign of Louis XIV. Arlot, a renowned practitioner, was attached to the household of Madame, Duchesse d'Orléans, mother of the future Regent Philippe d'Orléans. Fine late 17th-century administrative document, with large typographical vignette of the royal coat of arms and well-marked autograph signature. Traces of use and old folds.
