CHALLE (Louis). French aviator and publicist associated with the world of aeronautics and air shows. L.S. "L. Challe" to Jacques Mortane. Paris, February 9, 1939. 1 p. in-4 typewritten on letterhead "82, avenue des Champs-Élysées". Pleasant letter addressed to aviation writer and journalist Jacques Mortane, a well-known figure in French aviation literature. Challe tells him he has found a long-promised postcard: "I've just found the postcard I promised you, and I'm happy to send it to you, thinking of the good old days of the Military Zénith." The letter nostalgically evokes the heroic beginnings of aviation and memories of the "Military Zenith", in a friendly, personal tone. Beautiful autograph signature in blue ink with handwritten note: "Très cordial souvenir". An interesting piece testifying to the relations between the pioneers, chroniclers and animators of the French aeronautical world on the eve of the Second World War. Good condition despite a few creases.
