SINGER (Jérôme R. ) - Lot 187
SINGER (Jérôme R. ) Jérôme R. Singer Born in 1921. French-born American physician known for his work on measuring blood flow velocity and the medical applications of the magnetic properties of hydrogen nuclei. A.S. "Jérôme R. Singer" in typescript. S.d. 1 oblong page on graph paper. Curious scientific and autograph document combining a typed presentation by Professor Jérôme R. Singer and his autograph signature accompanied by the handwritten phrase "with best wishes". The text states that Singer is "the inventor of a new method of measuring the velocity of blood flow in man without incision of the skin, based on the magnetic property of hydrogen nuclei", a description that refers to the first developments in medical techniques using magnetic resonance and the biomedical applications of nuclear magnetism. An atypical piece combining the history of modern medicine, biomedical research and twentieth-century scientific autographs.
