ROSTAND (Jean) - Lot 180
ROSTAND (Jean) Paris, 1894 - Ville-d'Avray, 1977. French biologist, writer and moralist. Member of the Académie française, son of Edmond Rostand. L.A.S. "Jean Rostand" to Pierre Bornecque. Ville-d'Avray, June 2, 1965. 1 folio page in blue ink. Pleasant autograph letter from Jean Rostand concerning the organization of a meeting with his correspondent, in the simple, cordial tone characteristic of the writer. Rostand writes: "The simplest thing would be for you to telephone me (...) when you are in Paris. We'll then set a date to meet. He concludes warmly: "Please accept, Sir, the assurance of my deepest sympathy. A document testifying to the many exchanges Jean Rostand had with his readers and admirers during the last decades of his life, when he enjoyed a very high intellectual and media profile. Handsome autograph signature in blue ink. Good condition with the usual correspondence folds.
