ROSSI, Opilio (1910-2004). Italian cardinal of the Roman Curia, president of the Pontifical Council for the Laity and then of the Committee for International Eucharistic Congresses. Autograph card signed on Vatican printed card. Vatican City, January 6, 1987. In-12 oblong. Official card printed in the cardinal's name: "Cardinal Opilio Rossi". with printed reference to his position as President of the Pontifical Council for the Laity, enriched with a brief autograph message in blue ink: "with heartfelt thanks and fervent wishes". followed by the signature: "O. Card. Rossi". Dated at the bottom of the card: "6.1.87". A fine piece of courtesy correspondence from an important prelate of twentieth-century Vatican diplomacy, long apostolic nuncio to Latin America and Austria before joining the Roman Curia. Good overall condition; a few discreet traces of pink at the margins.
