Autograph card signed on Vatican printed cardboard.
Rome, October 6, 1986. In-12 oblong.
Card with printed letterhead:
"CARDINAL PAUL POUPARD
with Roman address and mention of Vatican City, bearing autograph text in blue ink signed:
"Paul Card. Poupard".
The cardinal thanks his correspondent "for your letter and good wishes", and assures him of "his faithful and respectful gratitude in Our Lord", the card being dated "October 6, 1986".
A fine example of courtesy correspondence from one of the leading French prelates of the Roman Curia at the end of John Paul II's pontificate. Paul Poupard played a central role in the dialogue between the Catholic Church and the contemporary intellectual world, notably through the Pontifical Council for Culture.
