HARDY, Adolphe-Marie (1920-2011). French Catholic bishop. Bishop of Beauvais, Noyon and Senlis from 1985 to 1995. L.A.S. "A. Hardy" on card printed with his name and episcopal office. S.l.n.d. [ca. 1985-1995]. 2 pages on an in-12 card. Kind letter of thanks to a correspondent who expressed sympathy with him on the occasion of his episcopal appointment. The bishop writes: "Very touched by your expression of sympathy, I thank you sincerely...". and states that he will pass on this support to his colleagues: "...commends to your prayers this new service entrusted to him, in communion with the bishops of the universal Church; assures you of all his devotion." Simple, sincere testimony to the pastoral correspondence of a French bishop at the end of the 20th century, on a pretty card printed with his name.
