Jacques Martin marvelously uses the majestic and mysterious setting of ancient Egypt to weave an intense political tragedy. The author's graphic design, with its absolute documentary precision, reaches a high level of maturity. The night scenes, the temple backdrops and the wild desert atmosphere - strikingly illustrated by the pack of hyenas on the cover - give this album a particularly dramatic atmosphere.
