SPIROU - Journal album, n°75 Dupuis, 1960. Large in-4 hardback, red cloth spine, first cover illustrated in color. A very fine early collection from Journal Spirou, corresponding to issue no. 75, continuing the remarkable series of bound albums from the great Franquin era. The particularly lively cover features Spirou, Fantasio, the Count of Champignac and the Marsupilami around an imposing metal structure, in a highly graphic composition typical of the Dupuis collections of the early 1960s. This illustration, by Franquin, belongs to the most sought-after period of the series, a time of great adventures combining scientific invention, humor and soap opera spirit. Issue no. 75 is well listed on the specialist antiquarian market.
