SPIROU - Journal album, n°55 - Lot 8
SPIROU - Journal album, n°55 Dupuis, October 1955. Large in-4 hardback, red cloth spine, first cover illustrated in color. A rare and sought-after early collection from Journal Spirou, corresponding to issue 55 of the famous series of bound albums published by Dupuis. This volume includes issues no. 912 to 924, covering the period from October 6 to December 29, 1955, and is part of one of the most prolific periods in the journal's history. It offers a remarkable panorama of Franco-Belgian comics in the 1950s, featuring the great names of the Marcinelle school and the publisher's emblematic series: Franquin, Morris, Peyo, Jijé, Will and Paape, among others. The cover is particularly decorative, depicting a fast-moving locomotive crossing a level crossing, a scene highly emblematic of Spirou bindings from this period. A sought-after copy for collectors of pre-1960 Dupuis collections, fans of classic Franquin / Spirou and bibliophiles specializing in post-war Belgian comics. Legal deposit is well established at October 1955.
