WALLON (Henri) - Lot 295
WALLON (Henri) Paris, 1879 - 1962. Psychologist, physician, professor at the Collège de France. Major figure in child psychology, associated with the educational reform known as the Langevin-Wallon plan. Autograph letter signed "H. Wallon", addressed to writer and critic Pierre Abraham. S.l., June 13, 1928. 3/4 page. Writing paper. A short but interesting working letter in which Henri Wallon acknowledges receipt of a letter from his correspondent, which he has not yet had time to examine, but of which he already senses "the depth of the problems" and "the most powerful interest". In a cordial, direct tone, he suggests postponing their next meeting until the following week, suggesting a Wednesday rendezvous, a testimony to the regular exchanges he maintains with Pierre Abraham in an intellectual and no doubt collaborative framework. This letter, though brief, is part of Wallon's network of intellectual exchanges in the late 1920s, when he was actively developing his research and teaching in child psychology.
