WALLON (Henri) - Lot 292
WALLON (Henri) Paris, 1879 - 1962. Psychologist and physician. Professor at the Collège de France. Autograph letter signed "H. Wallon", addressed to Pierre Abraham. Paris, April 8, 1925. 1 page 1/3 in-8. Writing paper (creased). Interesting early letter in which Henri Wallon discusses both scientific and personal concerns. He announces his imminent departure for Saint-Amand to "hurry up the printing of [his] thesis by giving the good to print", testifying to the progress of his academic work. In a more intimate vein, he makes himself available to meet his correspondent on his return, and addresses a medical question by recommending several specialists, including Dr. Grisef, "an excellent ear specialist", and also evokes a "very great authority", revealing his network of practitioners and the trust placed in certain names in the Parisian medical world. This letter illustrates the formative and formative period of one of the great names in French psychology, whose work would have a lasting impact on child psychology and pedagogy, notably through the Langevin-Wallon plan.
