STRELETSKI (Camille) - Lot 274
STRELETSKI (Camille) French psychiatrist and graphologist. Autograph letter signed "Camille Streletski", addressed to a correspondent. Paris, April 13, 1928. 1 ½ page in-8. Paper printed with his name, address and visiting hours. Binder holes. Interesting letter concerning the activity and organization of the Society of Graphology. Streletski thanks his correspondent for his kindness and points out that, for the time being, he can only entrust him with menial tasks - which he deems unworthy of his skills - such as errands or secretarial work for a survey. He did, however, invite him to contribute more directly to the discipline by sending him, "from time to time", articles for the journal La Graphologie scientifique, thus underlining the importance of written distribution in structuring this field of study: "You will thus serve the graphological cause and give us great pleasure...". The document sheds light on the internal workings of these learned societies and the implicit hierarchy between administrative tasks and intellectual production. Camille Streletski worked at the Hôpital Sainte-Anne, where he rubbed shoulders with Jacques Lacan.
