STRELETSKI (Camille) - Lot 272
STRELETSKI (Camille) French psychiatrist and graphologist. Autograph letter signed "Camille Streletski", addressed to a correspondent. Paris, March 5, 1928. 1 page in-8. Letter in his own name, with printed address and visiting hours. Interesting letter relating to the scientific graphology scene between the wars. Camille Streletski expresses his interest in his correspondent's work, mentioning in particular an article devoted to "the interpretation of the human figure" and Lamarck, and recalling a previous meeting at the consultation of Dr. Léopold Lévi. He goes on to explain the terms of admission to the Société de graphologie - presentation by a member and an annual fee of 30 francs - and proposes to personally introduce his interlocutor. To this end, he encloses a membership form and two issues of the journal La Graphologie scientifique, in which the recipient will find, he adds, answers to a survey on handwriting ("How do you write?") and the necessary bibliographical references. This document bears witness to the institutional structuring of graphology at the beginning of the 20th century, and its links with the Parisian medical and psychological world. Camille Streletski practiced at the Hôpital Sainte-Anne, where he rubbed shoulders with Jacques Lacan.
