PASSPORT - CONSULATE GENERAL OF FRANCE IN LONDON Under the reign of Louis-Philippe I, King of the French. Partly printed and handwritten document, signed, issued in London, March 23, 1841, large folio on laid paper, with red Consulate wet stamp. A very fine historical and decorative piece, issued in the name of the King of the French. The passport orders "MM. les Officiers civils et militaires de laisser passer librement M. David Thodeau". traveling : "accompanied by his wife, three children and two servants". with planned travel : "from Dartmouth in Scotland ... to Paris". In the left margin, the document contains a detailed handwritten description of the bearer: age, height, hair color, eyes, nose, mouth, chin and face, as well as the bearer's signature. Nice wet seal of the French Consulate General in London, consular signatures and chancellery fees. A very fine official travel document, of great typographical elegance, particularly sought-after for its decorative aspect and family dimension. Satisfactory condition: folds from use, old creases, paper a little marked, but well preserved and very legible.
