MIRES (Jules Isaac). - Lot 189
MIRES (Jules Isaac). Born in Bordeaux in 1809 - died in 1871. French banker. Autograph letter signed "J. Mires", addressed to "Mon cher Henry". Bordeaux, September 4, 1839. 1/2 page. Short administrative letter in which Jules Mires forwards to his correspondent documents relating to taxation for the year 1838. In it, he states that he has granted the addressee's mother a reduction of 89 francs 13 centimes, duly taken into account in the calculation of contributions. This practical bill illustrates the financial activities and management relationships in which Mires was involved prior to his major speculative ventures during the Second Empire. It bears witness to a private correspondence where tax concerns and relationships of trust intersected. Autograph signature.
