LOBEY (Henri) - Lot 162
LOBEY (Henri) French magistrate, public prosecutor. Autograph letter signed "Henri Lobey", addressed to a friend. [Paris, 98 boulevard Pereire], November 11, 1925. 1 page in-4, blue ink, on letterhead printed "98, boulevard Pereire". Charming letter of invitation, entirely autograph, in which Henri Lobey invites his correspondent to dinner on Wednesday, October 2, 1884, specifying that "we will present the rosette to our friend Aubépin this evening". The text, in elegant, clearly legible cursive script, bears witness to the sociability customs in judicial circles at the end of the XIXᵉ century, where honorary distinctions gave rise to friendly gatherings. The later handwritten mention of the date "Nov. 11, 1925" suggests later preservation or filing. Horizontal and vertical folds, minor foxing, otherwise good condition.
