LEGION OF HONOR - Lot 151
LEGION OF HONOR ROYAL ORDER OF THE LEGION OF HONOR Provisional certificate of appointment to the rank of Chevalier, partly printed and partly handwritten, Paris, June 17, 1821. 1 folio page, with handsome dry-stamp of the Grande Chancellerie. A very fine official document under the Restoration, certifying the appointment of : VERT, Pierre-Joseph, warrant officer, non-commissioned officer in the 4th horse artillery regiment, to the rank of Chevalier of the Royal Order of the Legion of Honor, appointment dated June 8, 1821, ranking as of the same day. Document signed for the Grand Chancellor by : Marshal de Camp, Secretary General of the Order, with very fine handwritten signature. Very fine administrative presentation, typical of provisional certificates issued before the final patent is issued. A fine decorative and historical piece, particularly interesting for lovers of military documents from the Restoration period. Good overall condition, slight old folds.
