LAFERRIÈRE (Louis Fortuné Adolphe) - Lot 131
LAFERRIÈRE (Louis Fortuné Adolphe) Alençon, 1801 (or 1810?) - 1877. French actor, figure of the Romantic theater. Autograph bill signed to "Mon cher Najar", no place, Tuesday, January 27, 1 page in-12, brown ink on cream paper, bill stamped with his initials. Charming autograph bill signed by Louis Laferrière, addressed to a correspondent named Najar. In it, the actor apologizes for his silence, due to a fragile state of health: "For the past month, I have been confined to my room with bronchitis". He then proposes a meeting, in a tone of great simplicity and pleasant closeness: "Would you like to meet on Friday from 3 to 4? We can talk in complete safety". The letter closes with an amiable formula and a beautiful signature: "With my best regards Your A. Laferrière". Very pleasant little document, both intimate and representative of the sociability of the Parisian theatrical world in the XIXᵉ century. An important player in Romantic drama, and a stage companion of Frédérick Lemaître and Étienne Mélingue, Laferrière appeared at the Odéon, Porte-Saint-Martin and Folies-Dramatiques, in roles emblematic of the Romantic repertoire. Very good condition. Beautiful ink, elegant and perfectly legible handwriting. Particularly attractive decorative signature.
