FIGUIER (Louis). - Lot 83
FIGUIER (Louis). Born in Montpellier in 1819 - died in Paris in 1894. Physician, professor of pharmacy and one of the great scientific popularizers of the 19th century. L.A.S. "Louis Figuier" to "Mon cher M. Lapp". Paris, September 13 [s.d., ca. 1860-1880]. 1 page in-8, cursive ink, autograph signature. Charming occasional letter in which Figuier asks his correspondent to obtain a box for the Théâtre du Châtelet on the occasion of a performance given by "Mlle Danchéff". He writes in particular: "I allow myself the indiscretion of asking you for a letter to obtain a box for tonight at the Châtelet... If this presented difficulties... I would ask you the same thing for the Gymnase..." And concludes courteously: "Hoping to hear from you soon...".
