DUFAURE (Jules Armand Stanislas). - Lot 70
DUFAURE (Jules Armand Stanislas). Saujons (Charente-Inférieure), 1798 - 1881. French lawyer and politician. Minister of the Interior, then Minister of Justice. Member of the Académie française (elected in 1863). Close associate of Adolphe Thiers. Autograph letter signed "J. Dufaure" to Liouville. S.l., December 16, 1871. 1 page in-8. Short letter of a practical nature, written in the early years of the Third Republic, in which Jules Dufaure returns a volume to his correspondent and asks him to have forgotten papers delivered to his servant. A modest piece, illustrating the daily exchanges of a great statesman at the height of his career, shortly after the events of 1870-1871.
