CROISET (Marie Joseph, known as Alfred). Born in Paris in 1845 - died in 1923. Hellenist, professor at the Faculté des Lettres de Paris, member of the Institut. Autograph card signed "A. Croiset", addressed to a correspondent. S.l. [Paris], November 10 [s.d.]. University of Paris letterhead. 1 page. Brief card concerning a request for information for a budget report, sent via M. Aubry. Croiset asks for a few days' delay, specifying that he will shortly be sending his correspondent copies of his commencement speech, in which he hopes to find the information he is looking for. Interesting testimony to administrative and academic exchanges within the University of Paris in the late XIXᵉ or early XXᵉ century, illustrating the role of professors in the production and dissemination of official documents.
