CLOUTIER, Joseph Brice (1753-?) Battalion commander in the 150th infantry regiment. Important autograph file of 4 handwritten pages with service record chart, addressed to the Duc de Feltre, Minister of War, Paris, March 17, 1814. 5 large folio pages (4 autograph pages + 1 handwritten summary table). Very important set relating to an application for a Legion of Honor decoration submitted at the end of the Empire. In a lengthy autograph letter, Officer Cloutier describes his service record and reiterates the titles on which his application is based, expressly mentioning : twenty-two years of service, fifteen campaigns and seven wounds The file is completed by a detailed table of service, campaigns, actions of brilliance and wounds, a particularly valuable document for Napoleonic military history. It covers campaigns from 1793 to 1814, with a detailed record of engagements, promotions and wounds received. Dated March 1814, in the dramatic context of the last weeks of the Empire, shortly before Napoleon's first abdication. Beautiful calligraphy and remarkable historical interest. Good overall condition, old folds from use.
