CAMPICHI (César). Born in Calcatoggio (Corsica), 1882 - died in 1941. French lawyer and statesman. Keeper of the Seals, Minister of the Navy, Member of Parliament for Corsica. Autograph letter signed "C. Campichi", addressed to "Mon cher procureur et ami". No place or date [a Saturday]. Half-page in-4 on writing paper. Letter of congratulations addressed to a magistrate on the occasion of an appointment. César Campichi expresses "his sincere joy" at the announcement of this promotion, adding that "the entire Palais applauds this well-deserved promotion and congratulates the head of its Parquet". A testament to the customs of courtesy and professional solidarity within the judicial and political world of the Third Republic. A brief but interesting document, illustrating the networks of influence and relations between the judiciary and political power.
