BERRYER (Antoine). - Lot 14
BERRYER (Antoine). Paris, 1790 - 1868. Lawyer and politician. One of the great figures of the 19th-century bar, famous for his pleadings and his role under the July Monarchy and the Second Empire. Autograph letter signed "Berryer" to Colonel de Lespinasse. S.l.n.d. 1 page in-8. Short letter of apology. Berryer expresses his regret at not being able to attend an evening party organized by his correspondent: "... I cannot arrange things as I wished...", specifying that he will not be in Paris at the planned time. A simple but representative piece of private correspondence from one of the greatest lawyers of the 19th century.
