BERLIER (Jean-Baptiste). Born in Rive-de-Gier, October 11, 1843 - died in Deauville, September 9, 1911. French engineer and inventor, pioneer of pneumatic transport and precursor of the Paris metro. Autograph letter signed "J. Berlier", addressed to Monsieur Maurice... Paris, November 8, 1900. 1 page in-4 on printed letterhead "Jean Berlier, ingénieur civil, 35 rue Boissy-d'Anglas", with autograph envelope. Interesting letter in which Berlier discusses technical and administrative issues related to his engineering work and projects.
