The golden beetle - Tintin - Lot 218
The golden beetle - Tintin
HERGÉ (Georges Remi)
Le carabe doré.
Facsimile of a wood-framed illustration project.
This work is a faithful reproduction of an original design by Hergé for a series of didactic postcards (chromos). It shows Tintin, magnifying glass in hand, observing an insect on the ground under the watchful eye of Snowy. The style is characteristic of the "Ligne Claire", with the precision of line and immediate legibility that are the genius of the creator of the Adventures of Tintin.
The original illustration, produced around 1943, bears witness to Hergé's meticulous documentary research, as he liked to place his characters in rigorous educational or scientific contexts.
