SPIROU - Journal album, n°95 - Lot 212
SPIROU - Journal album, n°95 Dupuis, 1964. Large in-4 hardback, cloth spine, first cover illustrated in color by André Franquin. Charming collection from Journal Spirou, corresponding to issue no. 95, emblematic of the full maturity of the Marcinelle school. The particularly elegant cover features Spirou at the piano, accompanied by the inimitable Marsupilami, whose serpentine tail animates the entire composition. The central cartouche recalls the volume's editorial richness, bringing together a remarkable array of major Dupuis series: Les Schtroumpfs, Jerry Spring, Lucky Luke, Gaston, Buck Danny, as well as numerous short stories. This issue belongs to the most sought-after period of hardback collections from the early 1960s, and remains highly appreciated for its iconic cover by Franquin.
