Les Schtroumpfs Noirs - 3 Smurf Stories.
Dupuis, 1985. In-4 hardback, boards illustrated in color.
1985 reprint of the very first album in the series, originally published in 1963. This seminal volume contains three emblematic tales: the eponymous story (in which a Smurf bitten by a Bzz fly turns black and aggressive, spreading evil by biting), Le Schtroumpf volant and Le Voleur de Schtroumpfs (marking the first appearance of the infamous Gargamel).
Peyo's genius was already on display, with a perfect mastery of the clear line and a sense of narrative rhythm that would make the little blue people a worldwide success. A landmark album that laid the foundations for an entire universe of Franco-Belgian comics.
