The House of Gideon. BENJAMIN RABIER La Maison de Gédéon. Garnier Frères / Casterman, 1976. In-4 hardback, boards illustrated in color. Album based on the work of Benjamin Rabier, creator of the famous long-necked duck Gédéon. This edition is part of the "T.V. Series", testifying to the enduring popularity of the character through its audiovisual adaptations in the 70s. It features the mischievous, colorful animal world for which Rabier, France's brilliant precursor of animated cartoons and animal comics, is renowned. The style, though adapted for this edition, retains the clarity and visual humor characteristic of the master, featuring Gédéon surrounded by his farm and woodland friends in situations full of freshness and candor. Justification page : Edition no. 1707. ISBN 2-7050-0044-5. Printed in Belgium by Casterman, s.a. Legal deposit: 2nd quarter 1976. On the second plate: mention of the title "Gédéon" and announcement of "Gédéon au bord de l'eau (à paraître)". Copy in good condition. Solidly bound boards. Boards remain bright and green, despite slight wear rubbing at corners. A small tear on the spine of the first cover. Very clean, complete interior, with perfectly preserved colors. A fine copy for rediscovering nostalgia for children's literature's most famous duck. A timeless classic of French graphic heritage.
